We pull historical pricing data — including Amazon sales rank, buy box ownership, and third-party seller activity — going back up to 180 days.
Discount Validation
The claimed discount is compared against the actual price history. If the "original price" was only set recently or doesn't match what customers actually paid, we flag it.
Cross-Retailer Comparison
PriceDam checks prices across multiple retailers to ensure the deal isn't just "cheap relative to an inflated price" — it's genuinely competitive.
Category Context
A 20% discount on headphones means something different than 20% off a sofa. PriceDam understands seasonal patterns, category-specific volatility, and typical discount ranges.
